Sick and Loved =)

Hey guys, it has been a long time since I wrote anything substantial here eh? Busy, busy. Weekends are spent with Jun, and weekdays in camp. First, it was BMTC at Tekong, now it's Paya Lebar Air Base.

Those who have been following Jun's blog would know that I've taken ill, and have been resting at home for 2 days. Fever, cough, and a very, very, bad sore throat. It hurts when I swallow, eat, and drink water. One's supposed to drink lots of water when one has fever, but it gets really, really discouraging when every sip of water causes my throat to burn.

Jun has been taking care of me for the past 2 days, while I lie semi-comatose in bed and demand for water, wet towel, food, and complain alternatively of it being too hot, and too cold. I've never been so sick in my life. I get so cold I shiver, and wearing 2 layers of clothing while hiding under the blanket is useless. Then after a few hours, I start getting hot, and end up stripping everything off. Okay not everything, down to t-shirt and shorts.

My throat is killing me now. Everything I eat seems bland and tasteless. The fish porridge that Jun bought me for yesterday's and today's lunch was tasteless. So was the hor fun that my dad bought me for dinner today. Sucks not being able to enjoy food.

I'm actually pretty glad that I'm sick though. I get to stay out of camp, relax, type in my blog, watch anime, and spend time with my darling Jun. Although I think she's falling ill too .. worried for her but she refuses to see a doctor. She's one stubborn little girl =)

Anyway, for those interested, I'm a Regimental Policeman, but at an Airbase, so that sets me apart from the other RPs at army camps. The normal RPs go through a 2 week course that consists of mainly lectures before they start work. Airbase RPs are called Airforce Troopers, and we're the only fighting unit in the base. That means we have to know how to handle all the section weapons such as GPMG, SAW, LAW, M203, and also learn how to set up field defences and fighting in built up areas, aka, urban warfare. Sounds fun? Crap, it means 2 weeks of normal RP course for me, plus 10 weeks of FDC, or Field Defence Course, that involves training with the above mentioned weapons, doing section/platoon movements and live-firing and not forgetting trench digging. Crap. Crap.

However, after I'm done with the course, I'll be doing shift work. 2 weeks of my schedule goes like that:

week one:
mon, tues: work
wed, thurs: off
fri,sat,sun: work

week two:
mon,tues: off
wed,thurs: work
fri,sat,sun: off

Doesn't sound too bad eh?

My headache's coming back, I think the medicine's wearing off. And poor Jun's so tired she knocked out in my bed. Going back to camp tomorrow at 2200 .. hope I get well by then.

We survived BMT..

We're a beautiful couple .. Hrms, I could do with more hair though. As a side note, notice that this is an old photo, I have longer hair now, but it looks messy, wiry and messy. Posted by Hello

I'm leaving

I would be leaving for Paya Lebar Air Base in 20 mins. I'm nervous. Will I be able to fit in? Will my commanders be bastards? God help me.

I promise to type a more substantial blog entry when I book out for the weekend =)

Mixed Emotions

Now, seriously, is being a Regimental Policeman a good thing or bad thing? I shall find out on Monday. Now at least I'm happy that I'll stay safely clear from mud, forests and shellscrapes. Thank God =)
