Michael Jackson in a recording studio in London. Can't wait for his new album!  Posted by Picasa

3 Neil Gaiman books that Janet and I shared for Zixin's birthday present. 3 for 2 at borders! Posted by Picasa

Deep Blue Something

Listening to my ipod on shuffle today, I came across Deep Blue Something's She is. I wonder what happened to that band, but this is a really nice song.

Lunch with Zixin was good. Met at somerset with the intention of going to Heeren's Billy Bombers, but ended up at the Bugis outlet instead after realising that she wanted to go to the Esplanade Library after that, so might as well go to the Bugis outlet as I remembered the outlet there being better. Well, I was right at least on the service aspect. The serving staff at the bugis outlet are indeed more polite, observant(bringing us a new bottle of ketchup when he realises we were having difficulty with our nearly empty bottle), and friendly but the bun of my burger arrived cold! Cold, like fridge cold, as how I put it to the waiter. I was disappointed, but the problem was quickly remedied by sending the dish back to the kitchen to be reheated.

Climbing was okay ..

Write more soon ..

The Magnificent Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin : "I'm never gonna get married. Are you?"

Hobbes : "Hmm...I suppose if the right person came along, I might. Someone with green eyes and a nice laugh, who I could call 'Pooty Pie'."

Calvin : "POOTY PIE?"

Hobbes : "Or bitsy pookums."

Calvin : "I think that would affect my stomach a lot more than my heart."

Hobbes : "Bitsy pookums I'd say. Yes snoogy woogy, she'd reply..."

-

Susie: You'd get a good grade without doing any work.
Calvin: So?
Susie: It's wrong to get rewards you haven't earned.
Calvin: I've never heard of anyone who couldn't live with that.

-

Calvin : You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.
Hobbes : What mood is that?
Calvin : Last-minute panic.

One Headlight

I can't drive straight. From my days in SSDC, to now, more than a year after I got my driver's licence, I still can't drive straight! Haha, the cars I drive seem to always move slowly to the left, and I have to correct the steering every now and then.

Drove Japheth and Jeryd down to Weeli's place to pick him up for supper, and both of them commented about that fact. Japheth even said that I'm the kind of driver people will hurriedly overtake .. for safety reasons. I gotta practice more! Seldom have the chance to drive, and as I learnt last night, my uncle's Nissan Sunny that I drive is a petrol black hole. Drinks petrol so quickly it's bloody amazing how my uncle can afford to maintain such a car.

Supper was good, if not unfilling. Went to Sempan Bedok for Roti John, which cost $3 and disappeared in my stomach without making its prescence felt. The Roti John at Bedok Corner that I had with Jia an last week was much, much, better, cost $3 too, and was a little more filling. The company last night was good though; the four of us together again. Some friends are meant to last a life time, and I think these friends belong to that category. I have some pretty good friends, and that's something to thank God for.

I'm going back to Billy Bombers(again?!) for burgers(again?!?!) later. Haha, this time it's with Zixin, and we're having their B-52 burgers. One-for-One with free cheese fries! Got the vouchers the last time I was there with Janet, so might as well make sure of them ya? =)

After that's climbing with Fengjie, and dinner(hopefully) with Daryl and Weeli.

Oh .. and Jeryd, Be Strong, Bro.

Quote from "Five people you meet in heaven"

Love, like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes, under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface, and must nourish from below, tending to its roots, keeping itself alive.

True, isn't it?

Black Out

There was a power outage in camp today. The whole building where my squardon resided was affected. That means, no air con, no lights, no ventilation, no nothing. And, considering that the bunks are in the middle of the building with no windows, the black-out made for a very unpleasant situation. Stale, hot air and near pitch-black darkness. We had to use a torch just to get around.

So what did I do? I fled. Haha. Once I found out that the power will only be restored on Sunday night, I woke one of my sergeants up and asked for time off. 12 hours. Ostensibly to go to Sitex, but of course the real reason was to escape the discomforts that were sure to follow. I couldn't have left sooner enough. At 6pm, the water went out. Imagine, no power, no water! Whew.

Anyway, I'm going back in half an hour's time. My time off expires at 0030hours. Sigh, I wonder how I'll sleep tonight .. in mustiness =)

Hrms. So. I did go to Sitex, with Daryl and Serene, feeling pretty much the 3rd wheel I was. Grabbed a Creative Muvo for my officer, and headed off to meet Jun for dinner.

Had Phin's at Tampines Mall where the service totally stank. Bring me back to their original outlet at Bugis any day man. The service there rocks. The waiter even recognised, and greeted me cheerfully every time I visited.

My writing's weird today .. I feel like a primary school kid.

music does this to me

standing on pain's doorstep
i gently knock
won't you please
let me in

for it's here that i belong,
happiness' a vacation
i can't afford

sitting here with my aching heart
mopping the floor with sorrow's tears
crying
love's a game, i'll never beat

so take me
in your cold embrace
and this is where
i'll call home

.. so we went down to marche for desert! Mango Crepe with Macadamia ice cream =) Posted by Picasa

.. Janet finishes hers too .. and still had a little space for more ..  Posted by Picasa

Finished my burger in ten mins .. and was still hungry .. Posted by Picasa

2 mins into my all-star burger .. I was really, really hungry *grin* Posted by Picasa

Beer

I should install a beer tap at home. I'm craving for more Erdinger beer. Had a tiny 0.3l glass after dinner just now at Marche, only whetted my appetite man.

I had the all star burger again ... :D

Let the photos do the talking .. i'm lazy

a whole new dimension to the word "boredom"

I'm bored. I'm sitting at home and I'm bored. Bored and to lazy to study, or do work. Help. Maybe it's the lack of sleep, but I don't feel like sleeping. Had 8 hours of sleep last night, should be enough, no?

Darren Hayes - So Beautiful

Whether I'm right or wrong
There's no phrase that hits
Like an ocean needs the sand
Or a dirty old shoe that fits
And if all the world was perfect
I would only ever want to see your scars
You know they can have their universe
We'll be in the dirt designing stars

And darlin' you know
You make me feel so beautiful
Nowhere else in the world I wanna be
You make me feel so beautiful

Whether I'm up or down
There's no crowd to please
I'm like a faith without a clause to believe in it
And if all the world was smiling
I would only ever want to see your frown
You know they can sail away in sunsets
We'll be right here stranded on the ground
Just happy to be found

You make me feel so beautiful
Nowhere else in the world I wanna be
You make me feel so beautiful

I have lost my illusions
I have drowned in your words
I have left my confusion to a cynical world
I am throwing myself at things I don't understand
Discover enlightenment holding your hand

You are..
So Beautiful

Yeah darlin' you know!
That you make me feel so beautiful

a little peek.

I'm tired man. Haven't been sleeping much, rushing to do one thing after another, filling my time with many activities, yet never studying. Hrms. Feel a little guilty. I try to look at css, and I just end up feeling pretty lost. Supposed to work on the youth website too. I need some photos to work on. Get a good graphic, then the inspiration for the web design will come.

Anyway, booked out on friday and headed straight to parklane for 5 hours of DOTA lan-gaming before rushing to SMU to watch Jun perform with her jazz band. Pushing away any feelings of deja-vu(or rather, how things were, how i felt, blah blah, the last time I was there to watch her perform), I actually enjoyed the performance. Their hard long hours at practice paid off, and Han was great.

Hrms, still on friday. Went down to pasir ris after that to meet jia an, daryl, and jianming for a drinking session at jia an's. Haha, he's the one with sorrows to drown; the rest of us were just there for the free booze. Chivas and vodka. Ended up on the floor again. Really oughta break this trend. Getting embarrassing. Drank a decent amount though, so not that bad la huh.

Saturday. Woke up at Jia an's at 8 to the sound of his clock chimes. Haha, didn't make it home the night before. Blah blah blah .. ended up in ecp with, jia an and, surprise, daryl! Taught Daryl how to blade, or rather, gave him some pointers after which he could manage himself, more or else =). 1 fall bro, for a beginner, is mighty good.

Bowling after that where I paid to clean the drains of lane 16 with the bowling ball. Haha, it was fun, but I really sucked.

And ... lastly, Harry Potter. The movie rocked man. I'm midway through the first book now .. sigh, Shaun. Harry Potty. Shaun. Harry Potter. Can't link the two. But nvm, I'll just enjoy the story.

Today, church. I thought it was youth service. I thought wrong. It was main service. Jasmin and I dallied at the coffeeshop downstairs till worship was over, then went up. No more youth services for me for a long time, cause i'm only out every alternate sunday, and it seems that the trend would be coming out when they have main service, not youth. Ouch. I should find another church ..

I'm tired.

Now, smart photographers, like ME, include the blades. *grin* Posted by Picasa

Jia an the silly photographer left out our blades. Daryl's 180, I'm 172, don't know how we can appear to be the same height, not that I'm complaining though :D Posted by Picasa

Biggest wave of actions yet announced against illegal file-sharing

http://www.ifpi.org/site-content/press/20051115.html

In Singapore, the recording industry has filed 33 criminal complaints involving users of FastTrack and Gnutella. These follow the industry's "Don't let the music die" education campaign in hundreds of schools, as well as instant messaging. Industry surveys show that eight out of ten people are aware that unauthorised file-sharing is illegal.

Thank God BitTorrent is unscathed..so far.

to the moon and back

Perhaps it's the sleep deprivation, or maybe it was just listening to Tim, Rachel and Sheena talk about their views on relationships, and sitting through Tim's narration of his love life, maybe it was listening to Nic's songs, or Tim's, but I'm feeling pretty low.

and still i hold the painter's brush
staring blankly ahead,
at a mess of colors

only i know
what they mean

only i know
why they're there

or do i really?

When I think about my life, what I've done, what I've been doing, and what I will do .. it just scares me. I feel totally ill-equipped to deal with life's challenges. I think I just need to sleep. A couple hours sleep will do me lotsa good.

What's up with today?

Started out today, or should it be yesterday, with a lunch with Jun. It went reasonably well, all things considered =), and for that I'm glad. She looked good, as usual. So that's babe number one.

Babe number 2's a waitress at Ken's Noodle House located in Orchard Plaza. Walked past the restaurant on my way to Cyberdome LAN Shop with my camp mates, was starving, decided to stop and look at the menu. Looked good, except that it was in Japanese. Noticed a waitress standing beside me, and er, thought she was Japanese. Haha, I mean, it's logical right? The restaurant looked authentically Japanese, menu was in Japanese, so it would make sense if they hired Japanese waitresses! Sigh anyway I'm tired, so the short story is that she's so cute she makes me melt. Haha.

Babes number 3, and 4 were sighted in ECP at 2am in the morning. I was feeling hungry, and a little crazy, so dragged Timothy for supper in hougang, and blading in ECP. I was just gushing about how nice it was to have the whole park to ourselves when 2 girls bladed past us from the opposite direction. Timothy and I exchanged glances, went "whoah", and swiftly changed direction. Haha. Their names are Sheena, and Rachel. :D

Okay now I've to book in at 730am, and it's 520am. Should I go sleep for at least an hour? Hrms.

Blank

If only I can pull out a new canvas from under the bed, where several others are stored. I'll toss aside the current one and place the new canvas on the frame. Painting this time in bright neon colors interlaced with lovely pastel shades, staying safely clear of my usual darker shades. And when I'm satisfied, I'll throw open the gallery doors, and allow the crowds to come flooding in.

Each painter carries with him a brush, and a palette of colors. Walking past the painting of my life, each adds what he desires, adding to the picture, changing it. I'd stand and watch, brush in hand, ready to respond to any new addition, skillfully working it into the picture, never allowing anybody to ruin my painting.

Alternatively, I could start, again, with a blank canvas. This time, instead of arrogantly trying to paint my own life, knowing what little artistic talent I posess, I could invite the Master Painter to come, and in His gentleness, paint the first strokes. The gallery doors will too be thrown open, but He would be at the doors, restricting access, allowing only those he deem worthy, to enter.

Or is that also, arrogance?

a variation of the earlier post. seems like this might be a little more meaningful. what do you think. Posted by Picasa

Free Beer

Asia Pacific Brewery.

Location, Tuas.

Did you know that they brew 6 kinds of beer?

Tiger, Heineken, Anchor, Guiness, ABC, Baron's Strong Brew.

Free Beer, in 30 mins, Shaun the Great drank,

2 mugs of Tiger (standard size)
1/2 cup of Guiness (half-pint size)
1 cup of Baron's (half-pint size)
1 cup of Heineken ( half-pint size)

and as much food as I can possibly manage.

Wanted to puke after I was done. From bloatedness.

Actually, I feel like shit right now.

Disgust.

hypocritical bastards,scheming rats
living in this debauched world thats home
to me, for now

i will be free, leaving behind this foul world
on the once paradisiacal earth turned
basin of sin and vices, evil and deceit
to where love abounds and suffering is unknown,
heaven, into the loving embrace of God

I was angry and disgusted. Now the anger has faded, and only the disgusts remain. It concerns my church. Seldom have I felt such anger .. coupled with saddness. Shaking in anger even as tears flood my eyes without warning, and without cessation. Bastards. Fucking bastards. Even if they're misguided, with good intentions .. I still spit at them. Call me passionate to the point of unreasonableness, but I will say they're only trying to cease their christian conscience, to make themselves feel better.

I'm an angry kid. I don't care.

Bon Jovi - Welcome to wherever you are

"Welcome To Wherever You Are"

Maybe we're different, but we're still the same
We all got the blood of Eden, running through our veins
I know sometimes it's hard for you to see
You come between just who you are and who you wanna be

If you feel alone, and lost and need a friend
Remember every new beginning, is some beginning's end

[Chorus]
Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life, you made it this far
Welcome, you gotta believe
That right here right now, you're exactly where you're supposed to be
Welcome, to wherever you are

When everybody's in, and you're left out
And you feel your drowning, in a shadow of a doubt
Everyones a miracle in their own way
Just listen to yourself, not what other people say

When it seems you're lost, alone and feeling down
Remember everybody's different
Just take a look around

[Chorus]

Be who you want to, be who you are
Everyones a hero, everyones a star

When you wanna give up, and your hearts about to break
Remember that you're perfect, God makes no mistakes

[Chorus]

plunging back into depression
return to familiar grounds
screaming in the darkness
embrace the pain

falling down the fabled pit
where all my sorrows reside
the cold touch of lonliness
gently cradling my neck

greetings to old friends
i'm finally home,
where i belong

Sad emotions spur my pen, so they're not necessary how I really feel about life la. Sometimes I just gotta practice writing my small-caps-four-liners. Wa, but I really got my ass kicked by this cute 9 year old boy name Justin. Fengjie and I met him in climbasia gym .. and .. we got .. outclimbed .. outmuscled .. outclassed.

Damn sad. Seriously. Climb more, climb more! My palms are as smooth as a baby's ass compared to Justin's. He climbs 5 times a week .. everywhere. Yishun, ClimbAsia, ClimbAdventure. God. And he has a brother in NS. Thank God his brother wasn't there.
