Streets of Love

STREETS OF LOVE
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)

You're awful bright, you're awful smart
I must admit you broke my heart
The awful truth is really sad
I must admit I was awful bad

While lovers laugh and music plays
I stumble by and I hide my pain
The lights are lit, the moon is gone
I think I've crossed the Rubicon

I walk the streets of love and they're full of tears
And I walk the streets of love and they're full of fears

While music pumps from passing cars
A couple watch me from a bar
A band just played the wedding march
And the corner store mends broken hearts
And a woman asks me for a dance
Oh it's free of charge, just one more chance

I walk the streets of love and they're full of tears
Walk the streets of love for a thousand years

Oh tell me now
I... Oh I walk the streets of love, yeah and they're drenched with tears... Oh

You had the moves, you had the cards
I must admit you were awful smart
The awful truth is awful sad
I must admit I was awful bad

And I walk the streets of love and they're drenched with tears
And I walk the streets of love for a thousand years... Oh

Walk the streets of love and they're drenched with tears
Oh every night, oh there's only one and not enough for him
Oh I, yeah and they're full of tears
Oh everybody talk about it
Everybody be walking down it
Yeah but I found out.... oh yes that I...

Oh yes I do
Oh the streets of love, yeah, they're drenched with, drenched with in tears...
I... oh yeah I don't want to...

Puke Blood

Read this blog, maintained by a member of the Young PAP. Makes you want to sock him in the face, no?

"One cannot claim that he is a taxpayer and should benefit from the likes of those in a PAP constituency when he voted for the opposition. Have we taken our efficient and incorruptible system and political stability for granted? Can WP garner its own support and resources to benefit the residents of Hougang instead of whining and complaining that the government is not doing enough?"

Maybe people in the opposition wards shouldn't pay tax eh? I wonder if this happens in other democracies as well. Perhaps I'm in possession of a frog-in-a-well mentality by not realizing that using public funds to support the dominant party's agenda is part and parcel of everyday politics. Hm.

why

They say that into every life
Some rain must fall
For the pain is no respector
Of the mighty or the small
But sometimes
It just seems so Unfair
To see the One who’s had
More than His share
Oh it makes you wonder why
And Lord
I wouldn’t second guess
Your mighty plan
For I know You have a purpose
That’s beyond the scope of man
If You look inside my heart
You will find
That I have always been
The Trusting kind
Oh but still I wonder

CHORUS
Why
Do the rainy days have to come
When the storm clouds hide the sun
I wanna know why
Why
When the reasons aren’t clear to me
When it all is a mystery
I want to know why
And though down here
I may not understand
I won’t let go
Of the Unseen hand
For It holds the reasons why

The Lord has never been afraid
Of honest prayers
And He won’t allow the burden
To be more than you can bear
When He knows that you’re trust
Is in Him
He doesn’t mind the questions
Now and then
Even if you wonder

Sank

Nope, it didn't go very well. I was sick, but i won't blame my failure on sickness cause truth be told, when I was facing the wall, the last thing that was bothering me was my illness. I was outclassed.

I finished none of the 4 routes, even missing one of the bonus tiles. I came close to finishing the second route, in fact, I should have nailed it. But I didn't. I was tired .. just so .. so tired.

Weak. A million thanks to Jeryd, Pamela and Sheena who went down specially to root for me, shouting their encouragements even as I plop time and time again on the crash mat. I tried my best guys, I guess I'm not good enough yet.

I'll try to be positive, and focus on the fact that I made it to top 10 out of almost 60 intermediate category climbers. That's an achievement, and frankly, a miracle. Thank you, God.

a single tear

viral seed of doubt
eating from within
it took love
to slow the rotting

and this love,
tested once again
when the doubt
blossomed into,
truth

it all falls
lies,into place
love, into pieces
trust,out of vogue

one would expect
love to be shoved
yanked from within,
tossed away

but curiously it stays
shedding tears of regret
at its loss of freedom
for although love survives
its vessel is broken

condemned now to live
in solitary misery
where starved of
nurturing,
it eventually dies.

I need an upgrade

Shaun version 2.43 or something. I studied for this math test harder than I ever did for any math paper apart from my O levels which I mugged over a month for(thanks zixin!). I had most of the knowledge in my brain but I guess cause I cramped everything there was to know from the beginning of the semester till the test, there was an information overload and my brain just did not have the time to digest the information.

It felt good though, to mug, although it was only 2 hours last night and 2 hours before the test today. It felt good reading, and understanding. Maybe my math isn't that hopeless after all. I just need to put in more effort.

And my spiritual life. Ah. "When you have maggots in your eyes, everything you see will seem to be rotting". Another original Shaun quote.

I am a Math Whizz

From the producer of

revolutionary new saying,
